Hey! Welcome to my site. I'm Leander, aka Moocyte. My username has changed a lot over the years, but I've finally landed on moocyte. Moocyte comes from oocyte and moo, reflecting my love for cows as well as my professional background as a molecular biologist.

I created this webpage both as a way to keep track of what I'm up to, as well as having a more central space to showcase my creative work.

In my working life I am a PhD student working on unraveling the disease mechanism of a rare muscle disease, and looking for new treatments to treat patients. For most of my life, I have been interested in science and always wanted to become a scientist. I'm happy this dream of mine has become a reality, and it's a job I wouldn't trade for anything. Research is one of my biggest creative outlets, and has been very fulfilling.
