+++ START LOG +++

The earliest extant Imperial documentation pertaining to Brother-Apothecary Gadrion originates in the closing decades of [REDACTED]M41. In keeping with established Reclaimers Chapter tradition, the subject received not only martial training in accordance with the Codex Astartes, but also specialised tutelage from the Tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus. It is noted in secondary file references (Mechanicus Stamp: 77-Kappa) that Gadrion displayed marked aptitude in disciplines outside the customary purview of an Apothecary, with particular focus upon biological structures and regenerative systems, a rarity within his Chapter’s ranks. While still in service of the Reclaimers, the subject distinguished himself by impressive bionic augmentation techniques onto wounded and unscathed Astartes alike, producing replacements noted for their unusual degree of organic integration. Reports are consistent with rumored practice of the Reclaimers Chapter, though they cite his “uncanny intuition” as a defining trait.

The next significant entries in the record pertain to the Defence of Corania, wherein Brother Gadrion is documented as serving alongside his Chapter brethren in concert with the Swords of the Emperor Chapter. Surviving dispatches confirm that the Tyranid incursion was successfully repelled (see Engagement Record Corania-Delta/71), with multiple commendations issued at the Chapter level. Notably, subsequent to this campaign, Administratum filings (Reference Form 98-Lambda, status: redacted) record renewed and intensified collaboration between Gadrion and select Magi Biologis. Of particular note are allegations (unproven at the time) that the subject recovered biological samples of Tyranid organisms without the knowledge of his superiors. It is suggested (though not conclusively demonstrated) that these samples formed the basis of further study deemed highly questionable in nature.

The files at this juncture become increasingly fragmented, owing to censure and the excision of large portions under Chaplaincy authority. Surviving testimony asserts that Gadrion undertook extensive analysis of Tyranid genetic material in tandem with Magos Biologis [REDACTED]. This line of study, while yielding insights into the mechanisms of Xenos adaptation and accelerated evolution, was later declared dangerously heterodox, bordering upon heretical by Chapter standards. When such activities were brought to light by Chaplain [REDACTED], Brother Gadrion was formally censured and exiled from the Reclaimers Chapter. The record indicates that this exile was executed with unusual haste, suggesting the seriousness of the charges brought against him.

Exile notwithstanding, Gadrion did not remain without patronage for long. Mechanicus records (Sealed Archive: Beta-22) demonstrate that he was accepted into the direct service of Magos Biologis [REDACTED], wherein his prior “unsanctioned” research was permitted to continue with greater latitude. Within a relatively short span, he was formally recognised under by the Genetors of the Organicist sect with the title of Magos Biologis; a designation highly irregular for one of Astartes origin, yet apparently uncontested within that institution. Contemporaneous Administratum observers remarked upon his fervour for this new role, noting a shift in his loyalties from Astartes to Mechanicus with startling rapidity.

In due course, the subject’s expertise in Tyranid bioform study came to the attention of the Ordo Xenos. Deathwatch archives (cross-index: Ravenna/45-Hydra) confirm his induction into that august brotherhood, where his efforts were placed under the direct oversight of Inquisitor Ravenna. At this stage, his activities are largely absent from conventional Administratum registers, falling instead under Inquisitorial classification.

Marginal Note:

While the subject’s trajectory is unusual (spanning Astartes Apothecary, exile, Mechanicus ascension, and eventual service within the Deathwatch) the consistent theme across all extant records is his persistent pursuit of Tyranid biological comprehension. Whether this constitutes dangerous deviation or laudable utility is, at present, a matter for higher judgment than that of the humble scribe.
